I went to the restaurant Lawry in Paragon for my dad and my (quite) belated birthdays. It is a 5-star restaurant, food there is uber ex, and water cost 6.50 a glass, sparkling or still. When I entered the restaurant, it felt creepy and eerie. It immeadiately reminded me ofo the Japan Disneyland Haunted Mansion ride I had during the June Hols (Just ask Tony, Samuel, and especially Yee Siang, they know how freaked I was). It was like having the ride all over again, except this time it was only a mere 3 seconds of it, and then you reach the dining area.
Bad news? The dining area looked like the first room of the ride but much bigger.
However, the food was not bad, with the steak going well with the sauces, and we had salad that was literally spun in a bowl by the fancy waitress, and you get spoken to in all sorts of attempted-British-English version, which can laugh and criticise at later on, and you get the beef griller right in front of you, serving the beef to you immeadiately, ensuring that u get it fresh and hot.
"I hear the Creme Brule is to die for!"
-- Christopher Hayden (Gilmore Girls)
And he's right! God I had my first taste of Creme Brule in my life!
It was burnt caramel crystal layer on top, and when you crack it you get to taste the cold creamy sweet custard like substance beneath it. It made it to the top things that make my life happy, and I immeadiately forgot about the eerie decorations.
However so, I wouldn't want to go back there again. I hate the atmosphere, it's too formal and tightneck. And expensive. And CREEPY!
